UPDATE 7/05 11:AM CDT: I spoke with a young lady at the emergency animal hospital this morning, and it appears our little friend may have a broken jaw. They're feeding him intravenously at this point but, sadly, not enough money has been raised to have him treated.

I'm hoping that enough donations will come in before they have to transfer the cat to the country shelter (perhaps a soon as Monday), where no one knows if he'll be treated and put up for adoption or simply put down. I was told that the little guy is alert (albeit frightened) and that he did do a little purring this morning.

I'm gonna personally call the animal hospital tomorrow, just to make sure the donations are going directly to the cat's treatment.

Thanks for helping. I just found out via [info]siamesecats that they're going to take the little fella to the county shelter and have a vet check him out there. Then, the original poster is going to work with her personal vet to get the cat's broken jaw fixed up. (Apparently, the vet has agreed to work with her on expenses.) After the bills are paid, she says she intends to adopt the cat herself.

I'm hopeful that this will come to a happy conclusion, and will let you know if/when I find out more. Thanks again.
