While National Geographic continues to rank among the world's best, mainstream sources for educating people about the gut-churning horrors of humankind, they also bring us some encouraging news once in awhile...

Like this.

Now that the "secret paradise" has been revealed, let's see how long it takes for the commercial poachers, loggers, miners and rebel "soldiers" to move in and wipe out our last-living ancestors, shall we?

You can help Jack Hanna & the Mountain Gorilla Veterinary Project here,
and/or Dian Fossey's Gorilla Fund International here.

P.S. Wait, what?...

You know, I get more useful news from Nat-Geo than most the other sources that are common. However, I half wish they hadn't found this.

Those gorillas sure are nifty. Wish I could adopt one...

You can adopt one, Doc:

Please pass the original post/link on in your LJ and/or to your friends, family & associates, won't you? It would mean a lot to me.

Absolutely! I had no idea it was even possible to do that... Thank you!

That reminds me of a nature film I watched about monsters. It mentioned that tribe that first settled in New Zealand and caused the extinction of dozens of creatures in less than a century. I ended up hating the bastards and then they mention how man killed off a lot of species within the last thousands of years. We suck, brother. :(

"We suck, brother. :( "

You n' I'll be long dead by the time it happens, but "we" will get exactly what's coming to us. Mother Nature always bats last, and my only regret is not being around to see it all finally implode. My best guess is it'll happen by plague and/or drought, with self-induced poisoning running a close second.

Fuckin' idiots.

One of the species they wiped out was the largest eagle that ever lived.

Humans are disgusting. How have we not been wiped out yet?

It's times like this that I hope for a Gorilla/Chimp rebellion. Seriously. They could destroy us all.
