Good to see something from you J. Great selection as always.

Gonna explain your absence, or should we just assume it was mob-related? ;-)

Yes, very nice to see the dumps back.

Why the hell were Joyce Carol Oates and Mike Tyson together ever?

John, ms x, Nilssen, Alice Cooper (?) and Micky Dolans.

Nilssen, right? Who's ms x?
plantmom From: [info]plantmom Date: April 24th, 2011 02:40 am (UTC) (Permalink)
Um, I think it's Anne Murray.

0. What, Ma Barker's sisters?

1. Dammit, I recognise her, but can't remember the name. Reminds me of Shirley Jones (but too young) or Anita Ekberg(?).

2. Spirochete?

4. Love the bow!

8. I'd guess "Captain of the Titanic", but that looks more like a Royal Navy commander. Who?

13. Now I have to look up who the "Vominatrix" is....

19. Love the blue!

23. Ed?

24. Barry?

29. Can I have her to go?

30. Name's on the tip of my tongue....

31. Who and what movie? Must add to Netflix queue.

32. Lauren Hutton ... mmmmmmm. Shame she looks so damn leathery now....

35. Shirley Maclaine and ?

36. Mmmmm ... old Playboy? Love the big nips.

37. Someone else beat me to this ... I recognised John, Anne, Alice, and Mickey, but I didn't recognise Nilsson.

41. Natalie Wood ... sigh ....

42. Is that Valerie Harper front and centre with the sign?

45. Someone already said that was Joyce Carol Oates with Tyson ... who the heck is she?

47. I should know who that is....

48. Peter, Paul, and Mary?

50. Can I have her to go, too, please?

57. Marlene Dietrich?

59. Mae West?

60. Henry Mancini?

61. The Duke!

66. Nixon can't even muster a good "Told you so!" look.

Glad you're still doing what you do.

It's the contrasting of one shot against the others. Nice layout.

"Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear..."

And what a haul! Great to have you back, especially with an image dump - especially an image dump like this one!

3. Is the dude in the back seat of the limo J. Edgar Hoover?

11. Johnny Cash, of course, waiting in the wings at the Opry. Looks as if it was taken when he was strung out on pills.

16. The immortal Dusty Springfield!

14. "Vominatrix" - what a wonderful nickname! (Wish I'd thought of it, but the best one I ever came up with - heh - was "Barfarella".)

21. The picture of two elephants reaching from their cages to touch trunks is heartbreaking...

22. Is that a very young Aretha Franklin?

25. Barry Goldwater, who actually was a licensed pilot (and a ham radio operator, and a Boy Scout, and an adopted member of at least one Indian tribe). Advocated allowing gays to serve openly in the military, because "You don't have to be straight to shoot straight!" If only the Republican Party still had members like him...

27. Hitchcock?

36. Shirly McClaine and Jack Lemmon? (What movie?)

49. PP&M - interesting camera angle.

61. Tony Bennett?

62. Rock Hudson?

66. Who's the mask-maker?
jblaque From: [info]jblaque Date: April 25th, 2011 06:39 am (UTC) (Permalink)
3. Spiro Agnew

22. Yes, Aretha!

27. Hitchcock and Psycho star Anthony Perkins, on the set

36. Shirley and Bob Fosse

61. Tony Bennett behind the mic

62. John Wayne

66. The late, great William Tuttle http://is.gd/jLIlvg (Trivia: He married - and divorced - TV icon Donna Reed in the 1940s... one of five marriages gone sour.)

Love the roller derby girl.
The people reading about Kennedy's death.

Really like the coloring on the girl in the 2nd picture.
jblaque From: [info]jblaque Date: April 25th, 2011 06:45 am (UTC) (Permalink)
The drop-dead beauty in the 2nd selection is Susan Denberg, 1966 or so. Lots more of her -> http://is.gd/zamOQ3... a rather brief (and sad) career.

Very glad to see you're back! I've really missed your posts.

Personally, I get a bit bored with all the pics of naked women, but that's my personal reaction as a card-carrying woman of the female persuasion, and anyway, it's your blog. (You woman-ogling man, you!) I respect the fact that AT LEAST they're artistically posed, lol.

Anyway, very thought-provoking photos. ;)

Hot Damn it's nice to see you here again! Nice group this time; was really surprised by the Lennon/Dolenz shot. The rest were, of course, fantastic.

Thanks for no tear-jerkers today, too. Hope to see more soon, and wishing you well!

The ring card girl looks a little like Susan Anton.

Who is in the picture under Barry Goldwater?

How the hell could Bob Fosse dance while smoking a cigarette? No wonder he died of a hart attack.

That's Harvey Glatman, otherwise known as the Lonely Hearts Killer.
