The news are the body is handled "according to the Islam customs". This morning all wingnuts are going to explain how it is "soft on Islamofascists", and how it proves that Obama is a Moslem.

They did mention that the NAVY SEALS killed OBL. However they misquoted saying that the CIA found OBL, it was British Intelligence(MI-6) that actually did find OBL. The CIA has been listening to the Israelis for the last 20 years and are completely fucking stupid.

The GOP is already trying to spin and twist that it's their success and not Barry O's. I knew that Barry was up to something, he was extra fucking smug at the Whitehouse Correspondents Dinner last night. So he must have gotten the DNA confirmation, either right before or during the Dinner.

As for the 2012 election I doubt that any serious contender from the GOP side will run against Obama. They might throw that war criminal Allen West (R-FL) into the ring as a sacrifice. He could run on the colored folk ticket. Then again anyone (with intelligence and critical thinking) who's ever heard him open his mouth wants to kick his ass.

It should be an interesting thing, if we start to stand down troops in the next few months it would be nice. However, knowing the War-Chickens of the GOP. I expect them to be "crowing for more action".

I also expect that they'll be playing the Islamophobia cards as well. That because OBL is dead, that we need to be afraid that the "DREADED" Muslim Horde will retaliate against the USA. I'd be more concerned if the asshole Israelis aren't behind the next attack. Just like a lot of people say they were behind 9-11.

Just like how they explain John McCain's periodic back-and-forths from being a Republican to a Democrat according to FOX. Unfortunately for the USA this is just a symbolic victory. Al-Qaeda's become an umbrella term linking several completely different organizations which can have completely different goals, and working according to the Amity Island Theory of GeopoliticsTM: if a group calls itself something like the National Liberation Front of Islamabad nobody cares. It calls itself Al Qaeda in Pakistan and everybody cares.

This, however, is akin to a bomb killing Vo Nyguen Giap as the USA was withdrawing from Vietnam (as that man actually didn't lead the final attacks, a second generation did so it wouldn't have altered a thing in the war itself).

Last night Fox News' headlines proclaimed, "BUSH CONGRATULATES OBAMA ON BIN LADEN." And then the local Fox news channel, while others were reporting the news, was reviewing basketball.

It made me laugh.

I'm very cynical and skeptical about all this. It's not that I doubt for a minute that Bin Laden is dead. It's just that I've believed it for a number of years now. His family is very tight with the Bushes, and the man was reportedly a double agent, who could be used as a general "bogeyman" to blame for whatever the American propaganda machine wanted the public to believe. He was said to be in quite ill health ten years ago; it's very easy to believe the rumors that he has been dead all this time, and that "unnamed sources" continued to put together bogus video of a man holding "current" newspapers long after he'd died. How else to explain the utter failure to find him in all this time, and now suddenly (when it's convenient) he's been killed, and his body has been buried at sea "according to Islamic tradition." WTF!?

I think the US is just trying to stir up some "patriotic" sentiment, toward what end I don't know, but I suspect we'll find out presently.

Wouldn't Bush having done this in 2006 have ensured four straight Republican captures of Congress as opposed to three? Seems that'd be more convenient where OBL is concerned than a Democratic President the GOP considers Antichristlotep getting his dead body.
