Another Whiff of America's Taint
This Friday, Arizona's Medicaid program will take an estimated $190 million hit, directly affecting up to 150,000 lazy slackers low-income state residents. That's when Brewer & Co. will begin denying health coverage to childless adults who fall below the federal poverty line.

Arizona has been providing health insurance coverage to welfare leeches poverty-stricken citizens for a decade under a ballot measure approved by the voters in 2000, but Brewer will no longer stand for such socialist handouts costly programs. She expects the new move to save $190 million during the first year alone by sweeping 135,000 undeserving vermin poor people off the state's health care rolls.

I still say that Phoenix, Flagstaff, Tucson, Chandler, Scottsdale and John McCain's swimming pool would all make perfect locations for nuclear waste dumps. What harm could it do that the xenophobes, wingnuts and 'baggers haven't already done?

We just have to get [info]scarybaldguy and his cats out of there before we start dumping spent fuel rods in the swimming pool...

Absolutely... and [info]m_fallenangel too, although he's pretty much a right-winger, and may have to be sent to one of our clandestine FEMA camps for re-education.

We'll be coming to scoop up stray progressives in our armor-plated school bus (like the one in Dawn of the Dead). You're more than welcome to hop aboard if the 'baggers and wingnuts haven't feasted on your flesh by then.

I've got a couple of other good friends who live in Tempe. Unfortunately, neither of them is capable of earning a living because of health issues; one's a disabled veteran, to the US gummint pays for his medical treatments, but I think his lady friend is dependent on the (soon to be nonexistent) charity of the state. The apartment they live in is paid for by some sort of rich-uncle bequest which pays the rent on that specific apartment for the rest of their lives, so they can't move :-(

Gods, I wish I lived in a civilized country!

You realize of course that the ultimate goal is not only to wipe the useless sacks of meat sucking off the government tit poverty-stricken citizens off the health care rolls, but to kill them off due to no health care?

That way a lot more money will be saved, through housing, food stamps, Medicaid, and any other socialist handout welfare government aid programs these millstones around the necks of honest hard-working people people might be using...

It's the Rethuglican, teabagger, wingnut, conservatool goal: A Better Tomorrow By Killing Off The Non-Rich Today.

Sometimes I think all you need to know about Arizona is William Rehnquist.

What's sad about this is that I have a co-worker who has an aneurysm the size of a grapefruit and the only thing getting her treated for it right now is this program. She is a childless adult so once this happens, she's screwed. She can't work full time under doctor's orders because the stress could kill her. This fucking state, I swear.

Don't quote me, but I believe that people already enrolled in the program will not be booted off, i.e. only new applicants will be denied...

Still a heartless piece of legislation (authored by fucking pigs), but at least your friend will (hopefully) get the treatment she needs. Think of how many people won't be as fortunate.

That's fucked up dude...crazy shit is happening all over the country. It may not be as bad as AZ but i'm dealing with the wrath of John Kasich over here...uck!!

At this point we should just officially name AZ as the worst state in the nation and get it over with.

Only a very few states like Vermont are trying to do right (as opposed to right-wing) by their citizens, but they have to get the president's permission to enact single-payer universal healthcare, because he has all power over health issues through the bill that takes effect in 2014. You remember, the one that punishes people who don't buy health insurance from one of the parasitic insurance companies if they happen to have a few dollars they were hoping to use to live on? Yeah. That one.

Arizona is just full of right-wingers who want all those who are old or in ill health to die, because they've outlived their usefulness and are not exploitable anymore. But they're not the only state that will enact this kind of gawdawful legislation. They're just one of the first. I really wish I'd been full of hot air when I told the people I worked with that this was coming. I really do.

are you back for real? Don't tease me now, I can't take it.

Undecided. Let's see what Boehner, McConnell & Co. have up their sleeves this summer, shall we?

P.S. Not at all happy with the Capitulator in Chief lately. I'm beginning to believe that his utter spinelessness is something he picked up as a child, i.e. the dire need to be accepted by his peers, even at the expense of his own beliefs, values and standards. Lets see if anything changes after re-election (that is, if he's fortunate enough not to be knocked off at the polls).

at this point, I'm not entirely sure he's better than the alternative. At least when it's the GOP, they're not stabbing you in the back.

Maybe he could turn out to be, like, The Scarlet Pimpernel:

They seek him here, they seek him there;
Those Fascists seek him everywhere!
Is he for real, or is he a "mummer?"
That damned, inscrutable Obama!

Well, we can always hope he's masquerading as One of Them while he's really on Our Side, to gain the advantage of surprise...
