What are you doing here? Why would you not post this under a cut or at the very least with a Trigger Warning?

Better question is, why did you friend Blaque in the first place? He's never been a fluffy bunnies and rainbows sort of poster.

What a lot of ASSumptions. (For your information, J and I have a history that goes way back that you clearly know nothing about.) But please, continue your ham-fisting blatherings into stuff that has nothing to do with you. Super cool move, asshole.

ONOZ, I has been insulted by some random person on teh interwebs!

Got some cluebatting for you right here:

1) You claim some kind of history with Blaque, yet you're SHOCKED AND APPALLED, SIR when he posts images of horrifying brutality juxtaposed with stunning beauty, which is perfectly in character for him. Spot the contradiction. Also, I've known him for some 15 years, both on LJ and alt.tasteless. So fucking what?

2) LJ has this nifty little feature called Image Placeholder, which replaces inline images with a shortcut so your friends page isn't cluttered with huge graphics (or things you might not necessarily want to see). This feature has only been implemented in the last 10 years or so, so I can see how it might not have caught your attention.

3) The internet isn't your happy little Safe Place, and nobody has to cut or tag things that you don't like. You're reading a rather infamous blog (I ASSume) voluntarily; nobody held a gun to your head and made you join Blaque's flist.

4) And you call me an asshole... wait, OK, I'll give you that one. But at least I don't try to tell people what to post in their own fucking blog.

P.S. Didn't know about that Image Placeholder thing (yeah, even after 10 years). Pretty durn nifty.

Because it's his blog, and he can post what he wants to the way he wants to. If your speshul snowflake sensibilities are so damaged, maybe you shouldn't have Blaque as a friend.

I've known him more than 20 years, and I'm well aware of the hijinks he gets up to. No fluffy bunny tree hugging rainbow farting unicorn he. If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Hi L ~

Long time no see... hope you've been well. Just thought I'd dip my toe back in the LJ pool and see what old friends here -- yourself included -- have been up to.

As for the photo (and this will be the very last time I ever attempt to defend, justify or otherwise explain anything that I ever have -- or ever will -- post in this journal, whether or not I ever post anything here ever again):

In 2004, after leaving the Usenet group alt.tasteless, I started this journal, entitling it "Blaque's Blog of Horrors" (a not-so-subtle indicator of its potential content, in and of itself), and christening it with my favorite dark warning from the Planet of the Apes.

In the nine or so years that have passed, I have posted hundreds, if not thousands of stories and images that display the seedy, violent underbelly of society -- any number of which could, conceivably, be considered painful, disturbing or otherwise "triggering" to a wide range of people from virtually any and all walks of life. And while it has never been my intention to knowingly/willfully offend anyone (other than Republicans) in the pages of this journal, I have always expected that individual subscribers might, at some point in time, take offense to one or more of the entries therein.

With that in mind, I included what I felt should be an obligatory disclaimer to the profile section of this journal on Day One, excerpted here:

"Please note that some of my entries contain profanity, gore or nudity... Check out my tag list for an idea of what to expect [...]

"Adults only, please... If you do decide to add me, you should — eventually — expect to be offended in one way or another (i.e., I'll likely end up slaughtering your particular sacred cow at some point). Nothing personal. ☺"

I do regret that the photo in question has upset you, L, but I can't honestly apologize for inadvertently hitting a random trigger that just happens to be yours (albeit a serious one for you, I'm sure). Nor can I promise that you won't find future photographs or stories posted here equally (or even more so) offensive than this one. For better or worse, these photos are part and parcel of this proverbial beast's nature.

I do hope you'll stick around, but I won't be offended if you decide not to. In any case, I wish you health, wealth and happiness -- and ample time on this planet to enjoy them all to their fullest. Be well, my friend. :)

P.S. Don't know if you're on Facebook, but if you'd like to stay in touch there, my page is mainly political/social, with a smattering of far more "trigger-free" photography (e.g., historical, vintage, comedic, etc.) Drop me a line and I'll send you an invite!

Hey! Back atcha, hope you and fam are all groovy.

I think I probably didn't say what I wanted to say the WAY I wanted to say it. I love your blog. I love that you post real stuff, and sometimes that reality is awful. I think for me, I tend to read my f-list, and get shocked. As in not expecting graphic stuff.

For whatever reason, I don't associate ONLY graphic stuff with you, because I know you better and you've done a lot more. It's just jarring for me sometimes. (Also I have PTSD, which is never helpful) Maybe what I need to remember is that your journal IS one giant TW, lol.

It didn't upset me, and of course I'll stick around. I love all the history you bring with your posts, as disturbing as some of it may be. Meh, I hope I explained it better this time. Also, I have a FB acct to stay in touch with my little sister, lol, but otherwise I kind of loathe it. Be well too boo!
