Hat-tip Dan Carter... Larry Sinclair, the man who claimed that he " took drugs and had homo sex with Obama" is now running for Congress in Florida’s 24th district as an "Independent." His slogan? 
"I served my time, now it's time I serve my Country."Sinclair, author of Barack Obama & Larry Sinclair: Cocaine, Sex, Lies & Murder? and convicted felon, was reportedly offered $10,000 to verify his claims of illicit sex and drug use with then candidate Obama via a polygraph test, which he promptly failed. But deceit is nothing new for Sinclair. Politico did a bit of digging into his background and found a pattern: The record includes forgery charges in two states, one of which drew Sinclair a 16-year jail sentence. The Pueblo County, Colo., Sheriff's Office also has an outstanding warrant for Sinclair's arrest for forging an acquaintance's signature and stealing her tax refunds. Sinclair has been convicted of larceny, theft, check forging and credit card fraud and has served over 16 years in prison in Florida and Colorado where he was disciplined 97 times for infractions including assault, threats, drug possession, intimidation, and verbal abuse. According to law enforcement records, he also has 13 aliases including "LA Rye Vizcarra Avila" and "Mohammed Gahanan." “It is what it is,” said a Sinclair spokesman regarding his criminal past. 22-year-old Svajunas Beniukas, who posted a video of himself throwing a dog off a bridge, has been hunted down by outraged animal lovers on the Internet.  In the grainy video footage, Beniukas is seen standing on a bridge clutching the dog and bragging about how he will prove that "dogs can fly." Then, horrifyingly, he raises the dog over the railing and lets go, sending it hurtling to the pavement below where it can be heard crying in pain. Miraculously, the dog - named "Pipiras" ("Pepper" in English) - was rescued by a passerby and is being treated for multiple fractures and internal injuries from which he's expected to recover. The video clip quickly circulated in Lithuania where it was shot, causing outrage among viewers (who soon began a search reminiscent of the hunt for cat torturer Kenny Glenn). Working with the authorities, the online investigators determined that the dog was dropped from a bridge in the Vilkija district. Police then worked with users of a local website to identify Beniukas, who - on learning of the manhunt - turned himself in to police. As it turns out, Beniukas was already a suspect in a robbery that had been committed earlier. As for the motive, Pipiras had allegedly killed some of Beniukas's mother's chickens, so Beniukas stole the dog from its owners and took it to the bridge to exact his revenge. He's been charged with animal cruelty and faces a year in jail if convicted. Police later issued a statement thanking users of the website http://www.15min.lt/ for helping them identify the culprit. While Republicans in Congress are gearing up to fight the relocation of detainees at Guantanamo Bay to a prison facility in Illinois, a group of highly-respected conservative figures lent their support to the transfer on Sunday, calling it necessary to "preserve national security" while simultaneously avoiding "sweeping and radical departures from an American constitutional tradition." In a joint statement prepared by the Constitution Project, David Keene, founder of the American Conservative Union, Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform, and former representative (and 2008 presidential candidate) Bob Barr say moving suspected terrorists to the Thomson prison facility "makes good sense." Taxpayers, they note, have already invested $145 million in the facility, which has been "little used." And the surrounding community, they add, could benefit from increased employment once the prison becomes filled. "The scaremongering about these issues should stop," they add, noting that there is "absolutely no reason to fear that prisoners will escape or be released into their communities." Barring a last minute intervention by Virginia Governor Tim Kaine, "Beltway Sniper" John Allen Muhammad will be executed by lethal injection this evening at 9 o'clock Eastern...  Muhammad and his accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo were convicted for the murder of 10 people in 2002. The pair is also suspected of killings in Louisiana, Alabama and Arizona, but Malvo - who has already confessed to as many as 27 shootings - won't testify unless he's granted immunity, so those murders remain officially "unsolved." Muhammad's attorneys asked Kaine to commute his sentence to life in prison because they say he is mentally ill, but Kaine has refused. The U.S. Supreme Court turned down Muhammad's final appeal yesterday. P.S. The Supreme Court's newest justice, Sonia Sotomayor, made her presence felt as the court began its new term Monday, the AP reports: The Supreme Court began its new term Monday by indicating a willingness to limit how long a suspect's request for a lawyer should remain valid, and new Justice Sonia Sotomayor wasted little time in letting her voice be heard by questioning the lawyers. Just how vocal was Sotomayor? According to McClatchy, she managed to ask more questions in an hour than Clarence Thomas has asked "over the course of several years."The Washington Post also commented on Sotomayor's confident performance in its review of Monday's session: Sotomayor displayed no reticence on the first day of her first term on the court; in the two cases on the docket, she asked as many questions and made as many comments as Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. Does Unca Clarence really ask so few questions that Sotomayor could beat his total in an hour, you may wonder. Indeed, he does. As the AP reported in February 2008, Thomas had gone two years and 144 cases without speaking up during oral arguments. "It is a period of unbroken silence that contrasts with the rest of the court's unceasing inquiries," the AP wrote at the time. Translation: Clarence Thomas is a lazy, languid dimwit who doesn't belong anywhere near the SCOTUS bench. The person(s) who were disqualified from the Victoria's Secret contest yesterday have now turned their wrath on Casey, and are running the same script to dump phony votes in her favor (clearly an attempt to have her disqualified). A little good news to end the week (h/t Dorian Block)...  17-year-old animal abuser Cheyenne Cherry reportedly "hissed" at protesters outside Bronx Supreme Court Wednesday, grinning widely as she took credit for stuffing a kitten into a 500-degree oven. Cherry was confronted as she was led from the courthouse after her guilty plea in to charges of animal cruelty and attempted burglary in the May 6th killing at her former roommate's apartment. "It's dead, bitch!" she snapped, sticking her tongue out after a plea bargain that will put her behind bars for a year in the May 6th killing of tiny Tiger Lily. Tiger Lily was left to die inside the oven after Cherry and her unidentified 14-year-old accomplice trashed the apartment of Valerie Hernandez, destroying furniture before stealing DVDs and food. After her arrest, Cherry told police the cat killing was "just a joke." In court, Cherry admitted to Judge Margaret Clancy that the younger girl put the cat in the oven - and "I didn't let the cat out." The pair fled the apartment because they didn't want to hear the dying cat's cries or desperate scratching at the oven door, authorities said. Prosecutor Jennifer Troiano said Cherry was granted a plea deal because her cohort was "more culpable" for the crimes. Under the agreement, Cherry pleaded guilty to two charges in a six-count indictment. She waived her right to appeal and agreed not to keep a pet for the next three years. Currently jailed on a probation violation, she faces formal sentencing July 31st. The second girl is facing trial in Family Court because of her age. As she exited the courtroom, Cherry passed a row of protesters outraged by her crime. One of them, Sharon Tuerlings, extended both her middle fingers and kissed them. Cherry grinned widely, stuck out her tongue and responded with her profane retort. Turns out this little princess is not new to scumbaggery. Just last year, she was busted for using a BB gun to kidnap a dog with her boyfriend, and was also arrested for robbing a man of his iPod at gunpoint. The protesters who attended the hearing said they represented more than 20,000 people who signed an online petition supporting harsh punishment for Cherry. They were thrilled by the deal that guaranteed Cherry would do time for the killing. Tuerlings said she wanted to get a glimpse of the monster behind the cat execution. "It felt so good to look at her ugly face," she said. "Those evil eyes that she has." My guess is that she'll get protective custody because of her age. Too bad, really. Better, IMO, to toss her into gen pop and see her chewed up and spit out like a piece of gristle. While I'm certainly no big fan of PETA's on several fronts, I commend them on this one. Yet another reason I would never bring my kids to a fuckin' circus...  The infamous Ringling Bros. Barnum & Bailey Circus is in hot water — yet again — after new undercover tapes show trainers beating their elephants before they go on stage. The graphic video, captured by a PETA worker who posed as a stagehand for six months, has sparked new allegations of animal cruelty against the circus and provided fodder for the campaign against the spectacle known as "The Greatest Show on Earth." The tapes show the giant animals wearing head-dresses, packed together as handlers strike them with bull hooks over their face, ears and bodies. The harsh, loud smacks of the whips are heard in the background. At one point, a handler wearing a black costume stalks up to one of the elephants and randomly smacks it in the head with his baton — apparently for no reason at all. The surveillance video captures four heart-wrenching minutes of elephants being whipped, sometimes curling their trunks, opening their mouths and making noises in protest. Workers sink bull hooks — sharp, fireplace poker-like tools — into the elephants' sensitive skin and yank hard as the animals trumpet in pain. Forced to perform night after night, one of the elephants in the video — 25-year-old Tonka — frequently sways back and forth, bobs her head and kicks her right foot — all behaviors indicative of severe psychological stress, and the verbal abuse appears to be as bad as the physical abuse. One trainer is overheard cursing at the behemoths, saying "Fuck you, fat ass. Back up." The undercover worker got a job with the circus and traveled with it across seven states. He shot video between January and June at various venues, including Madison Square Garden, reports the Daily News. And elephants aren't the only animals abused by circus handlers in the video. The tape also shows tigers being whipped and smacked around in rehearsals. Ringling Bros. officials said they didn't know about the existence of the video and couldn't comment on it, but said their animals are treated properly. This isn't the first time Ringling Brothers has been caught abusing animals on tape.. PETA has recorded other videos of workers beating animals — and some handlers have even spoken out against the company's abusive practices. A judge is expected to rule as early as this summer on whether Ringling's use of steel-barbed bullhooks, electric prods and shackles on the elephants violates federal law. In light of the most recent video, a formal complaint has now been filed with the Agriculture Department under the Animal Welfare Act. The group also plans to file complaints today in seven states where the circus performed, including New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Here's why.  36-year-old Miguel Matias, who strangled his pregnant 14-year-old daughter to death and dumped her naked body in a boiler last year was also the father of her unborn child, according to prosecutors. Matias appeared in Bronx Supreme Court yesterday as prosecutors consolidated the two indictments against him - an earlier one for his daughter's murder on February 16th, 2008, and the newest one for second-degree rape and incest. DNA taken from Matias matches a sample taken from the fetus carried by his daughter, Anna, said Steven Reed, spokesman for Bronx District Attorney Robert Johnson. Matias confessed to the murder, saying he was driven to strangle Anna with an electrical cord when he caught her writing "sex things" on her computer, police said. He has been declared fit to stand trial but has a history of mental illness and has attempted suicide several times, according to his lawyer Roy Schwartz. The new indictment says Matias raped his daughter between November 15th and Nov. 30th, 2007, which means Anna was 2-1/2 to three months pregnant when she was murdered. Matias' family had previously said Anna was pregnant with a boyfriend's baby. Matias is scheduled to appear in court again on June 30th and lawyers for both sides said a plea agreement is likely. He faces 25 years to life in prison for the murder charge and up to an additional seven years in prison for the rape charge. Reason enough to support the DP, you say? Hell, let me give you another. Just when you thought you knew the depths of this scumbag's depravity...  Investigators who searched the apartment of accused Holocaust Museum killer James von Brunn have reportedly found child pornography on his computer. The Washington Post reports: FBI agents said they recovered the desktop computer during a search of the Annapolis apartment where von Brunn had lived for the past two years. The pornography was disclosed in a search warrant affidavit seeking to make a more thorough inspection of the computer. Authorities did not disclose the type or extent of the child pornography they found on the computer during their first search.
Agents also recovered from the apartment a 30-30 rifle, other computers, floppy discs, memory cards, cellphones, a handwritten will and what appeared to be a painting of Hitler and Jesus.
Von Brunn, who is on life support after being shot in the face, was recently ruled to be unfit to stand trial. A hearing is expected pending his recovery. In hindsight, I'm glad he survived. And I hope - after months of agony - he recovers so he can spend the rest of his miserable, revolting life locked in a cage. This time it's tea-bagging border vigilantes...  Two leaders of the Minuteman American Defense group (M.A.D) and an accomplice are in an Arizona jail following their arrest on suspicion of the double murder of a 29-year-old Hispanic man and his 8-year-old daughter during a home invasion. From NBC News: Three people have been arrested in connection with last months deadly double homicide in Arivaca that left a nine-year-old and her father dead. One of the people arrested for the homicide is the National Executive Director of the Minuteman American Defense group, a group known for patrolling the border, and is dedicated to "Defending America's Borders" according to their website.
Jason Eugene Bush, 38, Shawna Forde, 42 and Albert Robert Gaxiola, 43, were all taken into custody and charged in connection with the murders of Raul Flores and 8-year-old Brisenia Flores. Both were killed during an alleged home invasion.
According to authorities, Bush, Forde, and Gaxiola broke into the home of the Flores family just after midnight on May 30th. At the time, the mother, father and daughter were home. The invaders reportedly shot the three members of the Flores family, killing the father, Raul, and the daughter, Brisenia. The invaders then left the scene. NBC goes on to say that the family's mother survived the attack and even fired back when the assailants returned, apparently hitting Bush at least one). The Pima County Sheriff's Department has settled on Bush (M.A.D.'s "Operations Director") as the shooter in all three cases. Sheriff Clarence Dupnik adds, "To just kill a 9-year old girl because she could be a potential witness, to me, is one of the most despicable acts I have ever heard of." The group's web site places the group as actively involved in the "tea parties" which swept the right-wing media around tax day. It also takes space on its front page to equate the rallying themes which drove the Confederate states to revolt, leading to the U.S. civil war, with today's 10th Amendment protesters. A $15,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and/or conviction in the shooting death of a Florida panther, one of the world's rarest big cats...  The dead female panther was found near the Hendry Correctional Institute on private property bordering the Big Cypress National Preserve in Florida. U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) special agents and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) investigators are jointly investigating the case. There are only about 100 Florida panthers left in the world, protected under the Endangered Species Act of 1973, making it unlawful for a person to ‘take' one without a permit. ("Take" is defined as "to harass, harm, pursue, hunt, shoot, wound, kill, trap, capture, or collect or attempt to engage in any such conduct.") If convicted, the federal penalty is up to one year of imprisonment, $100,000 fine per individual or $200,000 per organization. In addition, State of Florida makes it a third degree felony to kill or wound any species designated as endangered or threatened, carrrying a penalty is up to five years in jail and/or up to a $5,000 fine. "The FWC encourages anyone with information that leads to an arrest in this case to come forward, so we can bring the person or persons responsible for this crime to justice," said FWC Capt. Jeff Ardelean. "It is our agency's mission to protect and preserve the rare and magnificent panther, the state's official animal, for future generations." As reported by Sea Shepherd...  During the evening of April 23rd, members of a group calling themselves "Agenda 21" slipped onboard the whaling ship Skarbakk the Norwegian Lofoten Islands and, using a monkey wrench, disassembled the salt-water intake valve and flooded the engine room. As the ship settled low in the water, local firefighters arrived with pumps just in time to prevent it settling on the bottom. By then, however, the ship had been completely filled with water, destroying the machinery and electrical systems — a costly loss for the ship's Norwegian underwriters and for Japanese investors who were partners with the Skarbakk's owner. The Agenda 21 commandos left a note that read: "We came to Henningsvaer. We saw the Skarbakk. We sank the bastard. - Agenda 21"This brings the number of illegal whaling boats sabotaged in Norway to six over the last 17 years — attacks have kept insurance premiums at exceptionally high rates. (All whaling vessels in Norway are required to carry "war insurance" to operate): • The Nybraena (1992) • The Senet (1994) • The Elin-Toril (1996) • The Morild (1998) • The Willasen Senior (2007) • The Skarbakk (2009) "Agenda 21" is a covert group that takes its name from the 1992 UN Conference on the Environment. Sea Shepherd's Captain Paul Watson said at the conference that if Norway did not comply with international conservation law, that Sea Shepherd would sink their ships. He then supervised the sinking of both the Nybraena in '92 and the Senet in '94. After that, "Agenda 21," based in Norway, took over the responsibility of enforcing international law against illegal Norwegian whaling operations. "We don't know who they are, and we have no forewarning of their plans," said Watson, "but we do applaud their efforts. These laws must be enforced, and Norwegian whalers are in blatant violation of the worldwide ban on commercial whaling. We are happy that Agenda 21 took over this task back in 1996 with the scuttling of the Elin-Toril. If I knew who they were, I'd give them a medal. It's always better when these things are taken care of by citizens in their own country and the Norwegians who are battling the whalers are like the resistance fighters... brave men and women trying to defend lives from war criminals. In today's whale wars, those who slaughter the whales are criminals...no different than elephant poachers in Africa. Except in Africa, they shoot the poachers." So I ask you, dear reader...
